The Politics of Palm Sunday (#EmptyD2L Week 2)

The Politics of Palm Sunday (#EmptyD2L Week 2)

April 14, 2019

Palm Sunday is awkward from the vantage point of history. All the gospel writers include this HUGE moment for it is the most pronounced public proclamation of Jesus' Messiahship. Yet the praise of Sunday would lead to the death sentence on Friday. In this message, Pastor Joey looks at Luke 19:28-44 as we discover the two different processions of the day and the political implications of the events. The big question of the day is, "What kind of King do you expect Jesus to be?" Message preached on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at ParkerDC. The Case For Christ (Week One Podcast)

The Case For Christ (Week One Podcast)

April 8, 2019

Missed last Wednesday Night or curious about the content of our recent ReNew Bible Study? Listen now to this radio style podcast with Pastor Joey as he looks at Session One in Lee Strobel's study, "The Case For Easter". In this series we look at two key questions: (1) Did Jesus claim to be the Son of God? and (2) Did He back up that claim by resurrecting from the dead. The journey begins with the evidence for Jesus death via Roman crucifixion practices, including the mutiple floggings involved in the torture of Jesus. This study is occurring in April 2019 at ParkerDC. Join us on Wednesday Night at 6 PM in the Fellowship Hall this week as we continue the look at the evidence of Jesus' resurrection!

Dinner With A Sinner (#EmptyD2L Week 1)

Dinner With A Sinner (#EmptyD2L Week 1)

April 8, 2019

Jesus gave Himself up to pay our sin debt on the Cross. In this initial message from our Easter mini-series, Empty, Pastor Joey looks at Jesus' deliberate journey to Jerusalem as He goes thru Jericho, calling Zacchaeus out of a sycamore tree in Luke 19:1-10. We discover the Perpetual Seeker calling out a sinner by name and inviting Himself to dinner. In perhaps the clearest purpose verse in the gospel, Jesus says that He came exclusively "to seek and to save the lost" (v. 10). The gospel is ironic. The EMPTY tomb is the solution to our spiritual emptiness! Zacchaeus may have had lots of money, but he was missing something. That something is someone! His name is Jesus! Listen now and join us this Sunday at 11 AM for the continuation of this series in the Worship Celebration. How Far Are You Willing To Go (#OriginsNGenesis Finale)

How Far Are You Willing To Go (#OriginsNGenesis Finale)

April 1, 2019

Where God guides, He will also provide! In this finale of the Origins series, Pastor Joey looks at Genesis 22:1-19 and the appropriate correlation between Abraham's faith in respect to his son, Isaac, and the gospel narrative. We see snapshots of the Cross and Resurrection. We discover that God holds His Promises together long after intial fulfillment. He does not change His mind. His ways are eternally perfect! Abraham obeys God and God provides the appropriate sacrifice. In our life, He will provide all of our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Message preached on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at ParkerDC. Visit us at www.dclivelove.com and be our guest this Sunday as we begin our Easter series, "Empty" in the 11 AM Worship Celebration.

This Is War - The Prayer Warrior (Week Eight)

This Is War - The Prayer Warrior (Week Eight)

March 28, 2019

Don't stop reading! Most people just stop reading about the Armor of God when Paul gets to Ephesians 6:17 and the sixth and final piece of the armor is mentioned. However, the apostle isn't done with his exhortation in spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:18-20 communicates the absolute critical nature of fervent prayer in the life of the spiritual warrior. To be a spiritual warrior is to be a prayer warrior! Prayer is the fuel behind the spiritual fight. Neglect it and you will lose the battles. Cherish prayer and develop the discipline and joy of prayer and you will win moment by moment in these conflicts! Teaching from our ReNew series, This is War, on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Parker DeArmanville. Join us next week as we begin a new video series from Lee Strobel entitled "The Case for Easter".

A Change of Life Baby (#OriginsNGenesis Week 11)

A Change of Life Baby (#OriginsNGenesis Week 11)

March 25, 2019

A baby changes everything! This is true in EVERY home, but in the life of Abraham and Sarah this is particularly true. Nine chapters pass between the initial promise of a son of inheritance and the fulfillment of that promise! In this message from our Origins series, Pastor Joey looks at that fulfillment in Genesis 18:1-15 and Genesis 21:1-7 as Abraham has a face to face encounter with God. There is laughter and joy in this plan as Sarah initially laughs in doubt, but ultimately laughter becomes a gift! God will do what He promises He will do. But we must learn to be patient to wait on His Promises in His Timing! Message preached on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at ParkerDC. For more information about DC, visit us at www.dclivelove.com and be our guest this Sunday as we conclude this series in the 11 AM Worship Celebration.

This Is War - The Sword of the Spirit (Week 7)

This Is War - The Sword of the Spirit (Week 7)

March 22, 2019

Pick up the Scripture! It's more than that just words on a page, but a sword to wield! In this session from our This Is War series, Pastor Joey look at Ephesians 6:17 and the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God and it's importance to the believer in the spiriutal fight! We dare not fight spiritual battles with worldly weapons. We will assuredly lose. But when we take up the Bible by reading it, meditating on it, studying it, memorizing it, and praying it, we arm ourselves with multiple swords! The Spirit brings those Scriptures to light in the midst of the conflict. Listen now this message and join us next Wednesday as we conclude this helpful series. Session from Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at ParkerDC.

From Bethel to Sodom (#OriginsNGenesis Week 10)

From Bethel to Sodom (#OriginsNGenesis Week 10)

March 18, 2019

When we find ourselves in a moment of spiritual weakness, we must learn to return to where we had previous fellowship with God. In this message from the Origins series, Pastor Joey looks at Genesis 13 and Abram's return to Bethel after the debacle in Egypt. We discover two different options as a result of sin. Returning to Bethel is a return to deep fellowship and obedience to God, trusting in His provision and power to accomplish His purposes. Looking to Sodom, Lot does the opposite by desiring wealth and prosperity over loyalty to God. We learn of God's grace in Abram's life as His covenant blessings are promised. God is the Master of the second chance, the third chance, and the seventy-seventh chance. Nothing eliminates us from God's grace! Message preached on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at ParkerDC. This Is War - The Helmet of Salvation (Week Six)

This Is War - The Helmet of Salvation (Week Six)

March 14, 2019

Your mind is a beautiful thing! Protecting your mind must be a priority! Satan does not work by power or force, but by trickery and deceit. He plays mind games to make us doubt, get discouraged, and be distracted. The Helmet of Salvation is vital to the warrior's life because it's about assurance in our hope of salvation! When we are confident of God's goodness in Christ, we are immovable and ready for battle. Bible Study on Wednesday Night, March 13, 2019 at ParkerDC. Join us next week as we continue this series, "This Is War" with the Sword of the Spirit!

Relocating Faith (#OriginsNGenesis Week 9)

Relocating Faith (#OriginsNGenesis Week 9)

March 11, 2019

God initiates His redemptive plan by getting personal with mankind again! In this message from our Origins series, Pastor Joey looks at the beginning of the adventure with Abram in Genesis 12 and how God reverses the curse to a specific blessing, beginning with this one man. We see the beginnings of biblical faith in that sense. Abram leaves his comfort zone and obeys God, radically and completely! We learn that it's not biblical faith if it can be accomplished by your power, mind, or abilities. Faith is entirely grounded and sustained by trust in God! Nothing is impossible with Him! Do you believe that? Message preached on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at ParkerDC. For more information about DC, visit us at www.dclivelove.com and be our guest this Sunday at 11 AM as we continue in the Abraham story.
