Boddie Baucham suggests, "Brokenness is the place to which we come when we recognize that all that we are, all that we have, and all that we do is and of ourselves is sorely and miserably insufficient... And God crushes us under the weight of our sin!" Brokenness is seldom discussed in the modern church for it demands humility and self-awareness. But it is critical to repentance and restoration. In this pilot message from our new Broken Series in the Book of Judges, Pastor Joey looks at the spiritual condition of Israel in Judges 2 and discusses subjective moralism and the events that lead to an entire generation who did not know the LORD or His powerful acts of faithfulness. From a helicopter perspective, we discover the cycle of the Book of Judges, but also the cycle of brokenness in life. However, we need to remember that brokenness is the not the final outcome of God's grace in our life, but the turning point to restoration and peace.
